We want you to have a detailed and accurate understanding of the caravans and park to inform your booking decision and make the most of your holiday.
The caravans are situated on a small site in an elevated position about 100m from the beach. There are seven caravans in total, all identical (Atlas Fanfare 26x10) arranged in two terraces, 5 on the upper terrace, 2 on the lower terrace. They are carefully arranged so that all have views due West across the bay; the upper terrace has slightly better views than the lower but that is offset by easier access to the latter. There is a plan of the site here or you can see the birds' eye view on Google Maps here (taken in summer 2005 when the site was completely rebuilt). Note that there is no provision for tents, touring caravans or motorhomes.
The driveway to the site is steep but wide, allowing one parking space for each caravan but parking spaces are not specifically allocated. From the driveway, there are lighted pathways. There are no steps on the driveway or paths but there are three or four steps up to the decking area outside each caravan.
The caravans sleep a maximum of six people. There is a room with a double bed, a room with two singles and the living room area which converts to two singles or a small double bed. The kitchen has a gas cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and crockery for six people, plus a good range of cooking utensils. The living room area has a dining table, digital TV, DVD and gas fire. The bathroom has a toilet, basin and shower, with water heated by gas. There is an electric panel heater, controlled by a timer which also controls panel heaters in the bedrooms. Outside, there is a decking area equipped with a table, chairs and barbeque. Between the caravans, there is grass which we mow regularly.
When you book a caravan you have the option to book bed linen at extra cost. Linen is then provided for the number of people in your party. Note that this service is for bed linen only; you need to bring towels and tea towels. Some visitors have brought a travel cot and arranged it in the single room but space is tight. Note that we do not provide travel cots or high chairs.
We are fortunate to have a mobile phone signal on all of the networks. There is no WiFi network on the site but free access is available on your own laptop or other device, down at the beach.
Finally, the site is ideal for families, booking one or more caravans. It also suits couples and anyone who appreciates the peace, seclusion and beautiful views that it offers. The site is not suitable for the following: groups of students or under-21s (except by specific arrangement), more that four adults in one caravan, anyone wanting to party. Pets are not accepted. Smoking is not permitted in the caravans. If any of your group has mobility problems, please be aware that the entrance to the site is steep, and you should make us aware so that we can allocate a caravan with the easiest access. |
